Performing Arts

I absolutely enjoy going up on stage and being in front of the camera. It’s a space where I can be my true creative self. Since the age of 6, I have been acting in school plays, short films and social media ads, and have recently started modelling.

Early Childhood​

One of the very first performances I have memories of, are from my annual Montessori Christmas Concert in 2001. Here’s me dressed as Santa’s Little Helper with 2 of my class-fellows.

Throughout my middle school, I eagerly auditioned for the annual school play. I enjoyed performing in productions like Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady, Jungle Book, and A Slip in Time, among others. Over the years, my body language improved, and I became better at dialogue delivery and voice projection. Here’s a snapshot of me in action, playing the role of a police officer in the murder mystery play ‘A Slip in Time’ at Links Secondary School.

The Lyceum School Theatre Society

From August 2013 to June 2015, I actively participated as a member of the Lyceum Theatre Society. During both years, I took on acting roles in the annual English plays and engaged in various short performances throughout the year. Here’s me dressed as an old man.

In 2015, I was part of the annual English Play called “And Aurangzeb”, directed by Meher Jafferi.

Performances

During my studies at Habib University, I had the chance to collaborate with friends and film students, taking on acting several acting roles in their short films and advertisements. Here is a glimpse of some of my work.

Playwriting

In the final semester of my undergraduate degree I took a Playwriting course in which I wrote, “Out of the fire into the frying pan.”

A 70 year old convict is transferred from the VIP prison to the general population. The food is terrible so he tries to cook himself. His cellmate makes videos of him cooking and puts them on YouTube. The convict becomes an internet sensation. Unfortunately, his daughter wants him to stop so he can get out of jail earlier. Will he give up his newly found passion for cooking and internet fame to get out of jail?
